Conterganstiftung – Letter of the chairwoman of the Board dd Nov 5th, 2015
regarding “’Gruenenthal files‘ – Documents concerning reference StC II 1339“ (Open letter)
Dear Mr. Linzbach (BMFSFJ), dear Mr. Dr. Obst (BMFSFJ), dear ladies and gentlemen of the Advisory Council and standbys, dear Mrs. Dr. Kuerschner (BMFSFJ), dear ladies and gentlemen of the trust office,With a lot of sympathy I have read your answer to my open letter dd. Nov 20th, 2015, which I received today (see enclosure below). If you, Mr. Dr. Obst and Mrs. Dr. Kuerschner, experience difficulties with regard to deadlines before Advisory Council meetings to answer simple questions about topics which are very moving for the Thalidomiders though -as far as I know- you have office employees of the BMFSFJ available to support you in your correspondence it seems that the daily operation procedure in your ministry is not working smoothly.Anyway, I assume that in view of the importance of a fertile teamwork as you have always liked to point out in the past that now at least all of you and your colleagues from the ministries will understand at last the problems of the victims’ representatives in the Advisory Council and will take back all regulations regarding deadlines within the work of the victims’ representatives in the Advisory Council which have been implemented by Mr. Dr. Obst as well as all drafts regarding the rules of internal procedure of the Advisory Council on the agenda of the Advisory Council meeting #101 and consider them dealt with.As you are well aware the victims’ representatives in the Advisory Council do not have an office federally financed available to us as you have and they have great difficulties caused by their physical disabilities to follow the rules as they were now after 43 years of Advisory Council work implemented by Mr. Dr. Sven-Olaf Obst which are needless and only encumber us.For this first sign of a fertile teamwork I would like to thank all of you very much!Best regardsAndreas Meyer
